Evaluation Vehicle Technician

Job Introduction

Ford Halewood Transmissions Limited (FHTL) are seeking an Evaluation Vehicle Technician within the Quality Evaluation Department in Halewood Transmission Plant which will be supporting both ICE transmissions and Power Unit.

Role Responsibility

  • De-energising / Energising Electric cars.

  • Use Diagnostics Equipment 

  • Teardown / Rebuild transmissions / Power Units for investigations

  • Fit / Remove transmissions /Power Units into vehicles

  • Carryout In-vehicle evaluation of transmission / Power Units in accordance with the Engineering Test Specifications.

  • Represent the Company on drive appraisal events at Customer locations

The Ideal Candidate

  • Must have completed a relevant apprenticeship to be able to complete the tasks above.

  • General computer literacy using company systems.

  • User knowledge of excel & access database applications.

  • Valid driving license

  • Prior knowledge of transmission function & teardown would be an advantage.

  • Effective communication skills

  • Highly motivated and self-driven with innovation skills.

  • Proven ability to work in a Team.

  • Good understanding of 5 S and workplace organization

  • Willing to learn, adaptable and have a flexible approach towards change. 

  • Knowledge of vehicle repairs would be an advantage.

  • Please note, this is a very physically demanding role 

Package Description

Position Title: Evaluation Vehicle Technician  

Salary: £43,912.80

Location: Halewood Transmission Plant

Hours: Monday to Thursday 7:00-15:30 and Friday 7:00-12:30 (must be flexible to work shift patterns when required)

About the Company

Ford Halewood Transmissions Ltd is undergoing a huge transformation, with significant growth in 2023. To prepare for the upcoming launch we are looking for a range of skills to join the workforce.
